Winter's first snowfall

After months of at times bitter cold this winter in Beijing, residents were finally treated to a winter wonderland. In the past few days the city has been blanketed in several inches of snow, slowing down traffic and rendering typically noisy streets a little more quiet. According to the Associated Press, 4,000 people have been to the Great Wall at Badaling this work week to enjoy the "quite rare" sight of the snow-covered wall.
