Rock band Oasis cancels Beijing show

British rock band Oasis has canceled the two China dates of its current world tour for unspecified reasons. The shows scheduled for April 5 in Shanghai and April 3 at Beijing's Capital Arena, which also played host to the famed 'ping-pong diplomacy' between the US and China in 1971, would have established the band as one of the few big foreign acts to perform in China recently. Kayne West and Linkin Park performed this past fall in Beijing; the Rolling Stones played in Shanghai in 2006.
