The White House earlier this week confirmed that President Obama's trip to East Asia next month will also include stops in Japan and Korea, according to Reuters. While US ambassador to China Jon M. Huntsman announced in August that Obama would visit Beijing in November at the time of the next Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Singapore, it was not clear if other stops were also in the works. According to the present itinerary, President Obama will visit Tokyo on November 12-13, then head to Singapore to attend the APEC meeting, and then travel to Beijing for his third meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao. From Beijing, Obama will travel to Seoul, where discussions are expected to address North Korean nuclear disarmament, and he will leave Korea for Washington on November 19. Notably, Obama will not visit another key US ally in the region, Indonesia, and it's reported that Obama and the Indonesian President agreed last month at the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh that the US President would visit next year.
