China's national men's basketball team has announced that American Bob Donewald will become its next head coach, making him the third foreigner to ever lead the team, the USA Today writes. A former assistant coach to the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Hornets, Donewald is no stranger to Chinese basketball, having most recently lead the Shanghai Sharks to the semifinals in China's domestic league, the China Basketball Association (CBA). In only one year with the Sharks, Donewald took them to a finish they hadn't reach in 8 years, and at a press conference this weekend, he said, "we are going to come together as a unit and we are going to make this country proud."
