Yesterday at midnight fans in Beijing flocked to the Beijing screening of the much-anticipated Michael Jackson documentary "This Is It," according to the AFP. Simultaneously premiered in 17 world cities, the documentary follows Jackson in the months he spent rehearsing for a 50-concert tour that was to begin in July this summer, less than one month after he passed away from cardiac arrest. Last night's Beijing showing attracted a large audience, many of which donned single white gloves and carried posters of the late artist as a tribute, and prior to its start Jackson impersonators took to the stage, doing the moonwalk and grabbing their crotches as made famous by Jackson. "I came here from Shanxi province to pay my respect to Michael Jackson. I admire him," said high school student Bai Bin, who was one of the lucky few to buy a ticket before they sold-out just days after going on sale. For those in Beijing interested in seeing the documentary, there is good news: the film plays across the capital in major theaters for the next two weeks, screened in English with Chinese subtitles.
