Yesterday it was announced that the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team will promote tourism for the city of Beijing next year, the China Daily reports. "We have become a Lakers' partner for the new (NBA) season," said the deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Gu Xiaoyuan. The partnership will place many advertisements for Beijing and its famous tourist spots throughout the Staples Center in Los Angeles and sponsor other activities, like a raffle for two to visit the capital of China all-expenses-paid. According to the deal, Kobe Bryant will make a special appearance at one or more promotion events for the Beijing tourism bureau -- with free entry for fans. Advertisements to promote Beijing may be featured at the Staples Center as early as next week.
